Lonesome Valley is a private, gated community in Cashiers occupying nearly 800 acres just north of the Blue Ridge Escarpment. This temperate rainforest possesses one of the highest natural diversities of plants and animals found anywhere on the planet, along with some of the most stunning geological formations in one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. The granite faces of these high cliffs have been polished by glaciers, sculpted by wind and rain and burnished by the sun. Today they form the largest box canyon east of the Mississippi.
